Where I’ve Been

Hey all! I’m sure you’ve all noticed that I haven’t put anything up here in a while. I’ve kind of gotten away from my blog just because between my job and my personal life, I hardly have any free time. Instead of writing about the books I’ve read, I’d rather spend that time actually reading. I might still post on here every now and then. Maybe do a season wrap-up thing but mostly I’ll only be doing short reviews on my Goodreads.

So far this year I’ve read 29 books ranging from Alanna the First Adventurer by Tamora Pierce to Yes Please by Amy Poehler. I have a ton of new favorite books like Red Rising by Pierce Brown, Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson, Illuminae by Amy Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, and so many more. I also read Harry Potter and The Cursed Child and had very mixed feelings. I’ve moved, finished my first year and started my second year of teaching, and got rid of a bunch of books I was never going to read.

A few months ago I tried my first audiobook and it changed my life. If you don’t want to listen to audiobooks because you would rather read the physical book, I urge you to try them I have a thirty minute drive each way to and from work so I can listen to a complete audiobook in two weeks or less just while I’m driving! They are so perfect for long car rides or while you’re doing chores. I’m currently on my fifth audiobook in just over three months and it’s awesome.

I apologize for not posting as much but you can go follow me on Goodreads. And who knows, maybe I’ll start posting here more.

Finished Books of 2016 (SPOILER FREE)

School is out for the day however, we have a basketball game tonight so I’m going to be at school until 8PM. Of course I left everything that I could be doing in the other building so instead of being productive I’m going to talk about books!

My 2016 Reading Goal

I know what you all must be thinking: “Two posts in one week?! What, are you sick?”

My answer to that is “Actually, yes I am.” I’ve been sick since Tuesday and it’s only gotten worse so I decided to stay home today instead of risking getting worse or getting my students or colleagues sick.

Enough of that though, let’s get on to the real reason we’re all here! Continue reading

My Hiatus: An Explanation

Hi everyone! I’m sorry that this is my first post in about a month! Life has been so crazy lately!

The band has been busy going to competitions on weekends and we’ve had practices in the evenings and football games every Friday. I honestly just haven’t had the time. However, our season is starting to wind down and I’m going to start having a little more time to post. (Yay!) We have competition this weekend and then on the first we go to states and compete there, which is the end of the competitive marching band season.

Keep a look out for my September Wrap-up as well as a HUGE book haul! I was going to type up my book haul this past weekend but I’m still waiting for one more book to come in the mail. I also still have some reviews to do so also keep an eye out for those.

I’m looking forward to posting some more!
